The setting is peaceful, with lovely scenery and well-marked routes for hiking and cycling. Malevil Resort also has cabins and family-friendly places to stay. Our room was spacious, clean, nicely decorated, and looked out onto greenery. There’s a lot to do across the grounds: golf, swimming outdoors, tennis, beach volleyball, squash, bowling, and a mini zoo with llamas and goats. The kids especially loved seeing the animals. At the restaurant, breakfast came as a generous buffet, and we enjoyed Czech dishes in the evening. The wood-fired pizzas were a favorite, though service could slow down at busy dining times. Staff were usually friendly and helpful. I had a wonderful stay in the Lusatian Mountains, with a good mix of relaxing surroundings, comfortable lodging, and activities for a family, couple, or group. Malevil Resort is a lovely find in the Czech countryside, and I’d gladly come back and recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

In summer, the terrace is lovely, and the food is good. It’s a great spot to stay or just visit for the day. There’s plenty to do at the ranch, including tennis, bowling, and, of course, golf. We love the kids’ zoo, but please don’t feed the llamas plastic wrappers. We saw them chewing on one :(

Our little one loved the petting zoo, pool, playground, and trampolines, and we had fun with beach volleyball and golf. We liked the resort overall, and the stable staff, hotel cleaners, and golf course receptionist were all helpful and friendly. Our room was in a separate building, a long way from the main hotel and golf course. That wouldn’t have been a problem if breakfast were served where we stayed, but we had to walk to the main restaurant. Getting there meant walking along a road with fast cars, since there’s no sidewalk, and that didn’t feel safe.

The grounds are lovely for families, with animals and a great playground, but we didn’t feel especially welcome with children. We probably won’t return unless we take up golf, and I can’t recommend Malevil resort. We came for an afternoon outing to celebrate our child’s second birthday, and there was confusion about our reservation. They asked another group to give up the biggest table for us. Then we waited quite a while for coffee and had to ask for cake. The staff seemed disorganized, with orders either missing or arriving twice.
