The rooms were dirty and poorly maintained, nowhere near a standard paying guests should have to accept. The whole place felt chaotic, with no clear management or organization. Staff were rude and seemed unable or unwilling to handle even basic requests. They also booked massages and procedures without telling or asking us, then did nothing to help when those bookings caused confusion and scheduling conflicts. We could barely communicate because staff spoke none of English, German, or Russian. That made even simple problems frustrating to sort out. From beginning to end, the stay was horrible, easily one of my most unpleasant travel experiences. I can't recommend the hotel, and would advise travelers to avoid it. There are much better options elsewhere.

The building itself is the only thing that wasn't disappointing. The beds were so uncomfortable they left two 25-year-old backs aching, which seems especially ironic for a wellness hotel. The breakfast felt like a two-star offering, with stale pastries, and the service and amenities didn't even reach a three-star level. The wellness area was a cold pool nobody seemed to use, plus a Jacuzzi designed with seats for only five people. Jets on one side didn't work, while the other side pounded your back hard enough to replace the mattress pain with a new one. Maybe that's meant to boost massage sales, who knows. The sauna was okay, though it might fit five people at most. And the gym was basically one exercise bike sitting in the spa lounge. I'm surprised this place has a four-star rating, especially since the low reviews seem to describe the same experience. We had plenty of other problems too, but at a wellness hotel, comfortable beds, warm pool water, and decent service should be the bare minimum.

The location is nice, and I liked the art and furniture. The hotel looks fancy, with attractive rooms, but it seems to have seen better days. Our beds were uncomfortable, and there were no towels in the room until we asked. The spa looks nice but is small, and the pool water was too cold. The sauna only opens from 16:00 to 20:00. Breakfast felt tired, with a poor range of good quality food, and quite a few things weren't working during our visit.

We went in February, outside the main tourist season, and came away feeling this was a three-star stay at a four-star hotel. We live in CR and have learned to keep our service expectations modest, but even so, parts of the experience fell short. The breakfast had lots of good choices, the pool was nice, town was a short walk away, and the front desk staff smiled and tried to help. We also enjoyed the spa treatment. The problems were the old, uncomfortable mattresses and the sauna not opening until afternoon. Room cleaning missed dirty glasses and left the sheets carelessly made. There was also confusion and broken promises about our suite. It was a swing and a miss for us. KV has plenty of other places to stay, so we'll try somewhere else next time.
