Libušina Apartments

We were given only one set of front door keys for three people, and the apartment itself was noisy. You could hear everything happening upstairs and on the stairs, sometimes at night. The rooms are next to each other, with glass in the doors between them, so if one person has gone to bed while another is still up, the light carries into both rooms. Cleaning also wasn’t done every day, despite being described as daily. I would not stay in these apartments again. They spoiled the impression of our trip. Getting there was much harder than the description suggested. The route involves a steep hill or one of two long stairways, then the same difficult trip back down. The historic center is mostly pedestrian, and people go walking without a car. The whole way was full of potholes, and the climbs and descents were hard even for a young person. We had told the landlords we were bringing a baby in a stroller and specifically asked whether stairs would be involved. They said in writing that they wouldn’t be, but after the uphill walk we still had to haul our heavy stroller up 10 steps. They offered the garbage-strewn basement as a place to leave it, but it was far too unsanitary, especially since our child slept in the stroller at night. We also asked during our first phone call if they could provide a crib. The landlord promised one, then completely forgot. There was no view from the window as advertised, just a wooden fence, a garbage dump, and a neighboring hotel. Cars drove by noisily, so we tried not to open the windows unless necessary. Although we had given the landlord our exact arrival time, he was 35 minutes late, leaving us waiting in the street with a child, my elderly mother, and a dog. Later attempts to communicate with both receptionists got nowhere and were sometimes simply offensive. The price was average for the city, but we were told the quality matched the price of the accommodation, which I can’t agree with.
