St. Joseph ROYAL REGENT

Dinner was a real highlight: tasty food served by candlelight, and you can tell the staff put a lot of effort into making it a nice experience. Everyone was extremely polite and helpful. The hotel is modern, tidy, clean, and in a great spot. English communication with staff was average, though they spoke German, Russian, and Polish very well. Parking is the drawback. The lot is small, so we had to leave the car at the Thermal Hotel. It apparently works fine, but it’s still inconvenient.

The wellness area was a favorite, with unlimited access to a large pool, whirlpool, and three saunas. The whirlpool was off most of the time, though, and when it did run, only for about 10 minutes. The hotel is right by a lovely park and colonnade, in the middle of everything. Staff were professional, helpful, and very kind. Our favorite was the blonde waitress who looked after us on the first two days of our visit, 13.-14.7.2020. She was funny and lovely. Food was always fresh and delicious. Our room was spacious, clean, and fancy, with everything we needed: bathrobes, slippers, toiletries, and a complimentary bottle of sparkling water. We also appreciated having an umbrella when it rained. Sheets and towels were always clean and smelled nice. One of the best hotels we’ve stayed in. Totally recommend!

The smoking area right by the entrance is a problem if you don’t smoke. Apart from that, we had a good week here in September: clean room, good location, food and medical care, plus a nice pool and bar. The reception team helped a lot when we moved here after a week at Thermal. Special thanks to Olga, who arranged the procedures around what we wanted. She even suggested starting some straight away and prepared the equipment herself after the staff had already left. She also explained how to get the most from the treatments. Zdenka gave a very good massage, and all the nurses seemed professional and knowledgeable. Housekeeping was accommodating, and the waiters were attentive and great at multitasking. I even saw one step in for a cook at the omelet station, then return to the tables a minute later. The mattress was too firm for my wife, though I liked it. She mentioned it, and housekeeping added a soft topper to her side and changed the linens.

The medical facilities are modern and well equipped, and the medical staff were generally friendly and professional. Still, the approach to treatment felt commercial and impersonal. It seemed like guests were put into standard packages, without much effort to adapt procedures to each person’s condition or needs. The hotel’s organization, service, and attention to comfort also fell short of what I’d expect from its advertised four-star rating. It may suit people mainly looking for the procedures and equipment, but anyone expecting personal care and genuine four-star hospitality could leave disappointed.
