Parking in Karlovy Vary is so expensive, so we really appreciated the owner letting us leave our car in the hotel lot after checkout while we walked along the promenade. The room was on the ground floor, which worked especially well for me in my third trimester, and its window faced a side street, away from the busier road. For a place so close to the city center, it was surprisingly quiet. Everything looked clean and well kept, though the bathroom had a bit of an odor. We did miss having a kettle for coffee or tea, but that didn't spoil the stay. We felt the price was well worth it.

The location made it easy to get to a lot of nice sights, and our room was spacious, clean, and seemed recently renovated. Check-in got off to a rough start because nobody was at reception and we couldn't get in on time. We called the number on the website and were told someone would come shortly. Given that places were just reopening after the COVID lockdown rules, I could understand the delay. There was a bit of a language barrier with the receptionist on our first day, but they were still nice. We thought breakfast was included when we booked, but it wasn't. They said it would cost 10 euros, so we chose to eat in town.

The views from our corner room were lovely: one side looked over the city and the sunset, while the other faced old buildings and trees. With tall windows on both walls, we also got a nice cooling breeze in the evening. The hotel was a short walk from Palermo Pizzeria, which was absolutely delicious, and there's a small market next door. We had parking for €7 per day, a reasonable fee, and it was monitored by CCTV. The room was spacious and clean, and breakfast downstairs was included, with cereals, yogurt, milk, fruit, vegetables, cold cuts, cheese, scrambled eggs, sausage, bread and toast, butter, honey, coffee, juice, and tea. There was something for everyone. Service was excellent too. When the staff saw that my elderly mother was staying with us in the triple room, they quickly went up to prepare the pullout couch for her. They were kind and helpful, and gave us sightseeing advice. We stayed two nights and paid about $62 a night for the room. Great value, and we'd happily come back.

I stayed for three days and loved it. The hotel is only 300m from the bus and train station, the sights are walkable, and the river is about a five minute walk away. The rooms were spotless, and breakfast was good, with vegetarian and vegan choices. On my second morning, the staff remembered I like warm milk with my cereal and brought it for me. They also let me leave my luggage after checkout so I could explore without carrying it around. A thumbs up for the hotel, and KV gets two.
