The cottages are furnished really nicely, and the setting is lovely. Finding the place was very difficult, especially with Google Maps.

Really great 😀

We loved the country setting, with views of the windmill and Klobouky u Brna. The house is a little worn from use, but it has what you need for a comfortable stay, and the mattresses were so good we slept like a dream. The owner was kind, helpful and dependable. When we got soaked on our bikes and came down with a cold, we could switch on the heating and felt looked after like at a caring grandmother's house. Early June weather kept us from using the pool, which was a shame. We also didn't get around to the outdoor grill or fireplace, though we did our morning yoga on the cut grass, sometimes with freely grazing goats watching. The nearby Church of St. Barbara, ringed with linden trees, had a wonderful energy all around it. We visited Mr. Boleslav's nearby wine cellar twice. The wine was amazing, and Mr. Boleslav, at 87, is unbeatable. We'd happily come back if we get the chance.

The location and views are lovely, and having two fridges for seven people was handy. The pool is nice, though a bit shabby. Still, there are quite a few little things that let the place down. The garden has a shed full of junk, with more stuff lying around outside it. Since the house is rented out exclusively, I don't see why that needs to be there. The pergola has fabric from an old pub parasol instead of a proper cover, and the hole in the middle means it doesn't keep the rain out. The sofas on the upper terrace look so grimy I wouldn't sit on them even in overalls, and nearly half the floor gets wet when it rains. The living room's French window won't open, so you miss out on another possible place to sit and enjoy the town view. At night the lighting is too poor for board games, let alone reading. The room could use at least one hook for a bag or jacket. There were only three rolls of toilet paper in the basic supplies. We bought more and used up rolls worth about 50, - CZK, but it would be nice not to have to think about that on holiday. More dishwasher tablets or towels would help too. For an apartment at this price, those seem like basic things.

This felt more like staying in a cottage, so it may not suit anyone looking for something fancy, but it worked for us. The landlord was friendly and pleasant, and everything we had agreed on was honored.
