Hotel Na Šustně

The restaurant is nicely set up, and the food is very good. Prices felt a little high, probably because it's on the main road from Prague to Karlovy Vary. The staff seemed detached and bored, though, and could be friendlier.

The service was quick and polite, and the food was delicious. It's traditional Czech food aimed at truck drivers, so don't expect vegetarian or vegan choices. I had the comfy duck with red cabbage and spinach, plus three kinds of dumplings: houskovy, karlovarsky, and brambory. The beef stock was strong and came with meat, parsley greens, and traditional Czech soup pasta.

After four hours of trying unsuccessfully to find somewhere to charge my EV, with just 5% juice left in the battery, they saved me from getting stuck on the road. The waiter even gave back half the tip I'd left. When have you last seen that kind of modesty? The food was delicious and generous, everything was clean, and the staff were very friendly. The furniture and decor looked like they belonged in a five-star place, with expensive materials, thoughtful design, and flawless workmanship. I know a bit about that. You'd expect to pay far more for all this in a French diner. I've only been in a room for people with special needs, and it looked much more upscale and affordable than the French market. I have very few favorites, but this place is on the list. I won't skip it next time I'm passing through.

The staff were so nice and helped me out. Thank you very much.
