The quiet setting and fireplaces, both inside and out, were great. The cottage itself is very basic and a bit worn, though, and the price feels pretty steep for what you get. There’s not much electric lighting indoors. Watch out for the extra electricity charge, and bring your own towels, soap, and flashlight.

This is a very basic place, with bunk beds, fireplaces, a shower, and a toilet. It’s a Czech Customs Administration recreation facility.

The garden and surroundings are lovely and peaceful, with parking for about two cars. There’s a pond with refreshments close by, and the village has a convenience store. The cottage itself has been renovated and is clean, and the hostess is really nice and happy to suggest places to visit.

A week still won’t cover all the nearby sights, especially the better-known ones. There are family-friendly spots like the pond, bell tower, witch’s house, and animals, plus glassworks, rock castles, Stations of the Cross, caves, quarries, and rock formations a short drive away. The cottage was clean and ready for us, with everything taken care of. It’s a lovely, peaceful place, quiet both day and night, and everything went smoothly. I recommend it.
