Chata Zátiší

We’ve stayed here a few times and are planning another weekend trip. The place is well located, clean, and the staff are helpful. Breakfast is tasty, and the blueberry dumplings are delicious. It’s not a modern property, but we really like the atmosphere.

The breakfasts and dinners were excellent, and the staff were so kind. The cottage is older but cozy. It’s right by the ski slope, which isn’t operating at the moment but makes a great hill for sledding. We’d happily come back sometime.

The room rate, including a great breakfast, felt fair. The furnishings are old, though functional, and when something goes wrong the staff try to repair it. In summer, Zátiší doesn’t really live up to its name. I imagine there’s more of a buzz in winter with the ski slope right beside it.

The room smelled musty as soon as we arrived. The beds weren’t much better: the duvets looked shabby, and the sheets had no buttons. There was just one socket for a room meant for four people, and most of the lights didn’t work, so it stayed dim after dark. The sinks were badly crooked, with taps so long that water barely landed in them and splashed everything around when you washed your hands. The walls are very thin, and you can hear every step outside; the floor creaks terribly too. There are two showers for each gender on the whole floor. They didn’t look very clean, and neither did the toilets. The apartment has its own shower, but it smells like garbage. If you want to get your child draft Kofola, don’t count on it: there’s only one tap, also used for beer, so the Kofola comes mixed with beer. A half liter costs 52 CZK.
