Foster Hostel

Very clean.

The owner was very nice and handy, and she quickly handled a small problem with the TV. At first the accommodation looked lovely and cozy, but a closer look showed it was neglected and poorly cleaned. There was a broken door, mold on the wall, and stained armchairs. A paper asking guests to keep the "apartment" spaces clean was posted on the elevator. By the entrance, a battered chair showed us which apartment was ours, and stayed there for the whole visit. I don't recommend this place, and we'll look elsewhere next time.

The common areas were clean, but the rooms lacked basic things like a bathroom hanger and a shelf for belongings. The website photos don't reflect the reality: there were dirty walls, peeling plaster, and old, creaky furniture. The hostel is made up of three apartments with three rooms in each, and the bed was practically impossible to sleep on.

The beds creaked constantly and woke us with the slightest movement, the worst part of a thoroughly unpleasant stay. There was one unusually low pillow, no second nightstand or chair, dead lights in the hallway and kitchen, a broken shower door, and no working wifi. The room had no trash can; the kitchen bin had no bag and was only for mixed waste, so apparently they haven't learned to sort rubbish yet. The kitchen towel smelled, too. After a long search for parking, the hostel, and the reception, we arrived 20 minutes after check-in and were fined 100 CZK. The unpleasant landlady at check-in acted like the evil caretaker from Fast Arrows. She also charged another 30 CZK spa fee, even though it had already been included in the booking payment. She wouldn't have accommodated us if we hadn't paid it. At 1000 CZK, this house of horrors was my worst travel experience in the Czech Republic so far. We do not recommend it.
