Hotel Excelsior

The hotel is in the city center, the staff are always very polite and helpful, the rooms are clean, and the procedures are very good. But the dinners are below average. The meals are nearly the same each day, with tough, tasteless meat and a salad made from chopped vegetables left over from breakfast. The desserts repeat too. Puddings served on Monday were back on Thursday evening with a different topping, and you could tell they were old because they had come away from the glass. The hotel is great apart from dinner. Some school canteens serve better tasting food. For a really tasty dinner, I'd suggest restaurant Café Classic. It's the best food in town. :-)

I've been here for a week so far and am staying 9 days. The towels are changed daily, but the toilet and sink haven't been washed or cleaned once during that time. For that alone, my four stars could drop to one. It's a very old building with museum style upgrades, but a comfortable place. Reception staff are very helpful, and restaurant staff are very polite. The staff are really, really good, polite and helpful, which is why I'm still giving four stars.

Our room was cheap, but the toilet was broken and had to be fixed before we could use it. The massages on offer also weren't what I expected. The staff were friendly and helpful.

I was in Marianske lazne for a conference, so I can't comment on the spa services. As a place to stay, the hotel was OK: the room was clean and quite spacious for one person, the Wi-Fi was sufficient, and the staff were nice. Thumbs up!
