I was really pleased with the breakfast and the staff. There was plenty to choose from, including fresh fruit, juice, porridge, and waffles, and it was all presented nicely and topped up often. The staff were friendly, attentive, and professional. Our room was very clean, and the hotel was in good shape. The setting is lovely, with a castle nearby, and Karlsbad makes a good day trip. You can also get to Prague by bus, though it takes about an hour and a half, or drive there in around 15 minutes. The wellness area was the letdown. The regular and infrared saunas and the whirlpool were good, but there were only four loungers for everyone. The pool and floor were dirty, some tiles were worn or broken, and the wellness showers looked old and poorly kept. Parts of the ceiling seemed damaged too. The refreshments were just water in a bucket, which didn't feel very welcoming. I'd recommend the hotel for its rooms, service, breakfast, and location, but the wellness area needs a lot of work to meet the expectations of a wellness hotel.

The spa was a lovely part of my stay, with a sauna, whirlpool, and pool, and the massages were excellent. Lenka did a particularly amazing job. I also loved stepping straight out to a beautiful forest, with castles and ruins nearby to explore. The staff were friendly and accommodating throughout. A great choice for a peaceful getaway.

A big thank you to the whole team at the Pytloun Hotel. Lida and Veronika especially made my stay feel so pleasant with their dedication, smiles, kindness, and care in their work. Everyone was extremely kind and professional. It was a real pleasure staying at your place.

The hotel has some nice facilities. The pool is pleasant, if a little small, the jacuzzi is cool, and the other amenities are nice too. Breakfast was delicious, with lots of choices like juice, cereal, and jams. The hotel seems to have been renovated, though it still feels like some details need sorting out, perhaps because it opened recently. Our main problem started at check-in. We arrived on time but the room wasn't ready. First we were told it would take 20 minutes, then there was another 30-minute delay. The receptionist was kind and asked the cleaner to prioritize our room. We were lucky compared with a couple who had arrived shortly before us and still had no room hours later, so they left. I hope we just caught the hotel on a bad day, because the staff were nice, but seemed overwhelmed. Since the delay was the hotel's fault, someone should have reassured us or suggested something to do, like bowling or having a beer, instead of leaving us to wait outside or in reception. We also had dinner there because we were told the next restaurant was a 20-minute drive away. For a hotel that calls itself four-star, having just one meal a day at about €15 per person was surprising. It seemed like the owners could make much better use of the hotel's remote setting by offering excellent food. The meal tasted good, but the portions were small. Service felt rushed and inexperienced: soup, main course, and dessert all came within about 20 minutes, with three people clearing plates as we finished and bringing the next course before I could even sip my beer. I wonder what the children's portions would be like. There was also a power failure in the pool area. The staff didn't step in, and I'm not sure they even knew about it. People were left in the dark for over 30 minutes. The room was quite expensive for the Czech Republic, perhaps a normal rate for a four-star hotel, but at this stage I don't think this hotel is there yet. Maybe this will get the owners' attention, or maybe it will be ignored. I hope this was a one-off, because the place looks promising.

Daniel and his team made us feel welcome and looked after us professionally. We enjoyed the food, but the private wellness area and the comfortable beds were the best parts of our stay. Thanks for making our vacation more restful and enjoyable.
