OREA Hotel Arigone Olomouc

Hotel Orea Olomouc was a lifesaver when I accidentally left my phone behind. The staff kept in touch to work out how best to get it back to me, then arranged a courier to send it to Prague. I'm incredibly grateful for their patience and exceptional service.

The location was wonderful, just a short walk from the square, tram, and museum. Our rooms were cozy and roomy, the staff were helpful and courteous, and the breakfast buffet was terrific.

The staff were super friendly and helpful with what they could do. The hotel's right in the town center, within walking distance of shops, museums, pubs, and places to eat. Breakfast had a good choice of meats, cheeses, pastries, eggs, and fruit. The rooms seem hit or miss. My shower was tiny, with barely enough space to move without hitting something, including the temperature control. One wrong move meant an ice bath or getting cooked. There was nowhere to put a razor, soap, or anything else you'd usually leave on a shower shelf. My room had no air conditioning, though it sounds like a few do. The hotel was booked, so I couldn't switch to a cooler room. They brought a fan when I asked, which helped a little, but it was still hot for several days and took until the early hours to reach a tolerable temperature. Summer mornings were also bright because the rooms don't have light-blocking windows. Not every room has a mini fridge. My colleague had one, but mine didn't. And don't rely on the website photos as a guide to the rooms. We booked two standard rooms, and they were vastly different in size and amenities. It's a nice little boutique hotel, but know what you're booking so you aren't surprised like I was.

The terrace was the highlight for us, with plenty of seating and a wonderful view over Olomouc. We were happy with Executive Suite No. 331 too: it was clean, had A/C, comfortable chairs, and a very roomy bathroom. A few things could be better, like adding bedside tables, getting a larger TV, and dealing with the step in the middle of the room. The shower glass could use a limescale clean. Breakfast tasted good, though the choice was average and popular items ran out without being refilled.
