FAMILY Apartment OSTRAVA

The apartment itself was fairly clean and nicely decorated, and the kids had a great play kitchen and other toys. But our stay was very negative overall, and some problems made even the smaller things hard to ignore. We couldn't get any rest at night. There was activity and noise outside despite the stated quiet hours, and when it was hot we had to keep the windows open. Between 3 and 5 a.m. we were kept awake by the noise and a horrible smell of burnt pork and plastic. Closing the windows wasn't an option in the heat. I also didn't feel the area was safe. People of Roma ethnicity were walking around outside the apartments and looking into car interiors. If you have a better car, you can't safely leave it openly on the street, so paying for parking is highly recommended. Inside, the floors and doors creaked, and the linoleum over the old wooden floor had seams with hidden glue. Two pairs of our socks got ruined when they stuck to it. Both kitchen pans looked awful, so we had to buy a new one ourselves. The bathroom is extremely small, barely enough room to turn around. There were candles lit in the apartment, which we later realized were there to mask unpleasant smells. We arrived hungry and couldn't light the gas hob because there were no matches. The candles had been put out for safety, and the hosts said they don't leave matches for safety reasons. That was hard to take seriously with a lit candle sitting on the floor in a narrow passage. They said they'd bring matches within an hour, and did, even though we'd offered to buy some ourselves because we needed them sooner. We brought our own coffee and didn't drink theirs. I assumed the capsules were free, then noticed on the coffee maker that they cost 1 euro each. A bit amusing. At this apartment price, coffee should be included, and the place just wasn't worth the money. If getting a good night's sleep matters to you, staying here feels like a risky choice.
