Hotel Krusnohor

We booked one night through Booking without knowing the place’s current status. It no longer really looks like a hotel, more like a hostel, as others have said. Still, the host was pleasant, and the room was clean and ready, with towels and shower gel provided. There was a TV and refrigerator, and it was quiet both inside and outside. It was enough for a one-night stay.

My parents stayed at the hostel and were very happy with it. It was clean and inexpensive, with great service. The owner was a great person and drove them to and from the train station, then took them by car to Vary. It’s 10 km from Vary and a 10-minute walk from the station. We definitely recommend it. 👍

After a botched privatization and several “clever” owners, this once-famous hotel has been closed to the public for a long time and is now near death. The only place still operating here is the renowned Dukat beer hall.

BULGARIAN HOSTEL. It’s relatively well kept and in order, so your life isn’t directly in danger. But there’s a constant, terrible smell of cooking and cigarette smoke in the kitchen and common room.
