I spent a week here with a ski boot on Seibert, and it was simply relaxing. The staff were great and helpful, and the food was almost homemade. You can arrange the menu ahead of time. I recommend the spaghetti bolognese and baked spinach. The rooms were perfectly clean, and you’re right on the ski slope. The cottage has clearly been around for a while, so you have to keep that in mind. For this price in Prague, you can get a house, and you can’t expect 5* all in in the Alps.

The location is lovely, right on the Zahrádky ski slope, with a view of Sněžka. That’s about where the good points stop. I was here in 2019, and I don’t know if the chalet had the same owner then, but the staff were definitely different. They were helpful and nice back then. The three people working here now were a different story, especially the two gentlemen in the kitchen. They were hostile and unwilling, seemed to do as little as possible, and showed no friendliness. The mugs were dirty. I was told the marks were from tea, but they were still disgusting. There were dried food scraps from previous meals on the cutlery. The food wasn’t very good either, and the breakfast bread was hard or half thawed. It was obvious they were cutting corners on the tea and coffee. There was no hot water, so after skiing we had to shower in lukewarm water. There was black mold behind the beds, above the window, and in the bathroom above the shower, and it made us cough badly. From what the staff said, I understood the cottage was for sale, which may be why it’s in such a run-down state. I hope someone buys it and renovates it. As it is now, it looks like it could soon fall on their heads.

The rooms are absolutely fine, and the location works if you’re heading to Pec and the slopes. You’re probably not expecting a drive to Alpe-d'Huez, right? The gardens are good too. And if the hallways smell, it’s probably because the guys are cooking in the kitchen all day. If someone finds the service annoying, they shouldn’t be annoying themselves.
