Hotel Bouda Jana

The trails made for a memorable outing. We nearly reached Sněžka from one of them, though getting to good hiking routes meant walking a bit. The nearby cross-country tracks seemed suited only to advanced skiers, which may appeal if you want a challenge. We booked Cottage Hotel Jana spontaneously for winter, outside peak season, so it was pleasantly uncrowded. It’s on the far side of the hill, away from the main activities, but the nature around it was beautiful. The owner was friendly, and being able to settle the bill at the end was nice. A cozy, welcoming stay.

We’ve stayed here about four times now and will keep coming back. It’s one of my favourite hotels in CZ, a real hidden gem. The accommodation is simple, very clean, and the bed was comfortable. But the food is the thing I love: great lunch and dinner menus, incredible desserts, and the best breakfast rolls I’ve had in ages. The vetrnik today was amazing, and last night’s blueberry cake just melted in my mouth.

We won’t be returning. The staff were very unfriendly, and after we ordered four different dishes from the menus we’d been given, we were told they were sold out and that the place would close in an hour. It was also a bit overpriced, especially for that level of service.

It’s a quiet place and not overcrowded, with quick, good service. The place is a little old, but the kids’ food was nice. The children enjoyed the pancakes, sundaes, and blueberry dumplings 😉😊
