The staff were very friendly and helpful, and it’s an ideal place to stay with children. In summer there’s plenty for them to do outside, and the walk along the river to the city centre takes about 20 minutes. We happened to visit during renovations, so the restaurant was closed. They expected to open a Mexican restaurant from the first of April, which we definitely plan to try. The rooms are basic but okay, mainly clean, and have the necessary things; the bathrooms were clean too. The beds are on the hard side. It’s a standard Czech pension, so don’t expect a high level of luxury. If you’re looking for somewhere to stay in the region, give it a try.

We had accommodation arranged in advance and received email confirmation, but still couldn’t check in. No one answered the phone on the day we were due to arrive, even after we got there. My colleagues ended up sleeping in the car because by 11 pm they had no energy left to search for somewhere else nearby.

The location was a plus for my family and me, with a cycle path nearby and a kiosk at František's that I can recommend without hesitation. You feel at home at František's. The accommodation itself was a letdown, though. The beds creaked, the bathroom shower doors came off, and despite what they say, there was no coffee in the room. Four of us had just two mugs and one spoon. Better bring toilet paper too, because one roll really isn’t enough.

The area around the guesthouse was beautiful, but the stay itself was awful. The room door was about five cm too short, so light from the hallway came in underneath whenever someone entered. We also found the glass bathroom and toilet doors uncomfortable. There was a sump under the windows with an incredibly bad smell that came straight into the room.
