It’s a pleasant hotel, though not top drawer, about a 15 to 20 minute walk from Wenceslas Square. Reception staff are friendly and helpful, and the doorman or concierge is especially pleasant and helpful. Breakfast is a perfectly adequate buffet. The breakfast staff are efficient, but don’t interact with anyone. Room staff do what you ask, though for a tidy-up you need to hang a little card on the door handle.

There are lots of lovely restaurants nearby, without needing to go into old town, and the hotel itself is clean. The rooms are clean too, but have just one pillow each. They have paper thin walls, so bring earplugs, especially since people can get loud after a night out. When we asked for room service once, the beds were made and the towels refreshed, even though we’d followed the instructions to leave them. Used cups and teabags weren’t replaced, so I had to ask separately. Breakfast staff didn’t even respond when I said hello. Allergy information wasn’t clear, and as I’m gluten free I ended up having only yogurt for breakfast.

The hotel was quiet, felt very secure with floor access restricted to key card holders, and had a clean room and comfortable bed. Breakfast had a good selection. But there was no hot water for my shower at 8.30am. When I went to shower in the evening, my used towel had been taken and not replaced. I tried calling reception with no answer, so I had to dab myself dry with a T-shirt, get dressed, and take the lift to go find a towel.

The bed was huge and incredibly comfortable, and the room was clean and nicely decorated. I had everything I needed, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I stayed three nights on my own. The bathroom was fine, though the ceiling over the bathtub in my room was so low that even my 160 cm girlfriend couldn’t stand there. Breakfast was enjoyable, but could have been better. The location was almost perfect.
