The room, really a mini apartment, matched the pictures and came with plenty of comforts: a little kitchen with appliances and soap, a fan, a big TV, and lots of space. The location is great, a few minutes from the Prague museum, within walking distance of Old Town Square if you like a walk, and close to the underground. It was a lovely stay. The staff’s attitude let it down. Before I’d paid, they didn’t answer my questions, and I had to involve the booking company’s customer service. One guest couldn’t come because her flight was cancelled, but they still charged city tax for three people when only two were there. I wasn’t asking for a discount on the stay, but had to get the booking company involved again to get the absent guest’s tax refunded. Keep an eye on the charges if you book here.

For budget travelers, the price for what you get is great. The location is ideal, just steps from the national museum and a 20-minute walk to the main square. My room was clean enough for sleeping and showering, which was all I needed. The front desk hours were my only concern, though I managed to check in on time despite my flight delay.

What a terrible experience. The room was in a cellar with hardly any daylight, and it was damp and mouldy with a horrible smell. The photos and description didn’t say it was a cellar or mention the loft bed, and the listed facilities were inaccurate, since there was no air conditioning. We asked the unfriendly receptionist to move us to another room, but were turned down. We’re students travelling on a tight budget, but after five minutes we chose to leave and book another hotel instead. SCAM! Don’t book a room here. 😞

Getting around from this hotel is easy: the location is superb, with everything nearby and taxis and other transport easy to find. The stay itself was awful. I paid around USD$50.00 per night, which felt like a poor deal, and I would not recommend it. I was in Room No. 20, an attic on the top floor. Its windows are in the ceiling beside the kitchen exhaust, and the room is short enough that, at 6,1 feet (1.87M), I hit my head on the ceiling more than twice. The bathroom is split between a toilet room and another room with the sink and shower, and there was a bad smell from the pipes. The air conditioning didn't work and seemed poorly maintained; the old bed, very uncomfortable couch, and badly maintained, terrible-smelling fridge didn't help. Getting there with luggage was a struggle too. The elevator doesn't reach every floor, so I had to carry my bags up two flights. And hotel service was terrible. Staff work fixed hours, so if your flight or arrival is delayed and you get there after 17:00, be prepared for nobody to help. You'll need to arrange something in advance.
