Our room was at the back in an adjoining building, so there was no view, but we were only there to sleep and that didn't matter to us. It was lovely and large, and we had a restful two nights without street noise. There were a lot of stairs to climb. The location in Prague is hard to beat. Breakfast at cafe mozart was adequate, in a beautiful room overlooking the astronomical clock. The castle is roughly a 20-minute walk, or perhaps 15 without the crowds, like at 8am in winter. A very pleasant stay.

The location is ideal, but we had a terrible experience with the service. Our room rate was supposed to include an airport pickup; the driver never came, and after several phone calls we were finally collected more than an hour later. We got excuses, no apology. The hotel also arranged a dinner reservation, but the restaurant had no booking when we arrived. Again, excuses and attitude, with no apology. Parts of the hotel have no elevators, some stairs lack handrails, and the beds and chairs sit very low, about two feet off the floor. Anyone with mobility problems, or over 60, should find somewhere else. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who values service.

We booked three nights, but left after the first and paid for another hotel. The rooms were old, the bathrooms felt hazardous, and the corridors smelled of drains. It was noisy too. Getting around was awful, with stairs up and down to reach the same floor and no lift in parts of the building. The breakfast room and restaurant looked shabby and unpleasant. This didn't feel like a four-star hotel, and I wouldn't recommend it.

The location, right in front of the Astronomical Clock, is the one good thing here. Since the hotel is in a restricted area, a taxi can't reach it, so we had to drag our luggage a long way. The rest of our stay was deeply disappointing. Staff were unfriendly and unprofessional. The person dealing with our bags was rude and careless, throwing them around, which made a bad first impression. The room wasn't clean either, with a spider web on the ceiling. Restaurant and café staff were disrespectful too. Though the hotel calls itself historic, it felt neglected and poorly maintained, with worn furniture barely holding together, rather than vintage or charming. It didn't feel worth the price, and I absolutely wouldn't recommend it. Prague has many cleaner, more professional options.

The breakfast room in the main hotel is grand, with plenty to choose from and a view over the square and astronomical clock. We came as two couples from March 9 to 13, 2026, and stayed in deluxe rooms 202 and 302 in the annex, next to the main building. The rooms were airy, bright and spacious, with fantastic views of the astronomical clock and the old square. Staff were attentive and couldn't do enough for us, especially the porter, who has a tough job carrying heavy bags around. There's no lift in the annex, so expect lots of stairs, understandable in a beautiful old building dating to 1410. The hotel is ideally placed for exploring Prague. We had a fantastic stay and would return. Thanks for a memorable break at this beautiful hotel. The Kay's and the Smith's
