Atlantic Hotel

12.10.-16.10.25 The breakfast was fresh, tasty, clean and nicely presented, though there wasn’t a huge choice, especially of vegetables and fruit. The rooms were clean and tidy too, with no dust bunnies, even if the interior is old-fashioned and worn in spots. Hotel Atlantic really does feel like a three-star hotel. The staff were efficient and professional, and it’s a good hotel for its category. We chose to support a local hotel rather than a chain, but I still miss the kind of breakfast and standard chain hotels offer. Can’t help it 🙂

After a long journey, we arrived to find that Hotel Atlantic said it had no record of our confirmed reservation. The staff were unfriendly and uncooperative, kept saying it wasn’t their problem, and offered no help or took no responsibility. We were left without a place to stay and spent over 5 hours trying to find another hotel ourselves. There was no apology or effort to assist us. The whole thing was extremely stressful and unacceptable. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel if reliability and respectful treatment matter to you.

The breakfast was lovely, with a big choice of cereals, yoghurts, meats, fruit, bread and drinks. The shower was clean and really good, and despite the tired-looking room, I’d stay here again. We were on floor 2, at the end of the corridor. The room was huge, but looked run down, with stains on the wall and floor. They only provided one pillow, which wasn’t enough for me. At arrival, the woman kept asking for a voucher. We’d paid in full, but she asked us to email the voucher number, and I still don’t know what she meant. The hotel itself seemed quite worn, though we only needed it as a base.

The location was very good, and breakfast had a tasty, varied selection. The room carpets could use replacing, but that was okay. They did ask us to pay the city tax when we arrived, the only hidden fee.
