Deminka Palace

The rooms are spacious, but they weren't well maintained, and there was mold on the windows. When you walk in, there's a really strong sewer smell. Fortunately it was only in the lobby, but I couldn't bring myself to eat in the restaurant right beside it. For what this hotel costs, it isn't worth it.

The staff were so helpful and nice, and the hotel is beautiful. It’s just minutes from the main square and an easy walk to the Old town, its architecture, and its history. I’d recommend it to anyone visiting Prague for the culture and history. Just keep in mind there’s a tourist tax, as at all hotels, and a security deposit at reception that’s refunded at checkout. Those costs could catch you out.

The staff are really friendly, the price is OK, and the room has plenty of space. The hotel is close to the center, which is nice if you don’t mind a very simple setup. It’s a small, older place, nowhere near a palace, and the infrastructure doesn’t seem worthy of four stars. The room has a dusty feel, and the bathroom’s slow boiler takes a while to heat water. There isn’t even a glass for your toothbrush or other things. Fine for a few business days, though.

We stayed overnight while passing through Prague, and the location worked perfectly: about a 10-minute walk from the train station, close to the Vltava river, and within strolling distance of the sights. Cafes, bars, and restaurants nearby stay open into the evening, so it was easy to find something to eat even after arriving late. The reception is open 24/7, and the staff were kind and helpful, explaining everything we wanted to know. Our room was cozy and clean, with comfortable beds and even a mini-bar. The building's beautiful old-style tenement design, inside and out, really stands out. I strongly recommend it and will definitely return on my next visit to Prague.
