That friendly staff member who explained the heavy old wooden front door made sense of what was happening. It was a shame the receptionist didn't respond that way, because her attitude during the problem left us with a bad feeling. We'd mostly seen positive comments about the service, so maybe we were unlucky with the door and the receptionist. The room itself was spacious and clean, and we loved both it and the convenient location near the places we wanted to visit. But on our third day, after our key card failed several times at the entrance, the receptionist came to help and insisted nothing was wrong. She seemed frustrated, and her tone and choice of words felt condescending and unprofessional. She took our card to try it herself, but it seemed more like she wanted to show us the door worked, or that we were being difficult, than to fix the issue. The first couple of days we'd had no trouble opening it. The gentleman, presumably another staff member, politely told us the old, heavy wooden door could be hard to open sometimes. We wish she'd handled it with the same patience. The place and room were nice, but the service should have matched the standard of the stay.

The room was spacious, with a great kitchen setup, and the staff were warm and accommodating. The bathroom was just okay, but I'd still give it 5/5 and stay again. Being so close to Prague's main station also made it easy to get to most tourist spots.

We had a comfortable bed, air conditioning, and very fast 5G internet. Our studio booking was upgraded for free to a larger room, which had a cute little living area and kitchenette with a smart TV. We were really pleased with that. There were a few small drawbacks. The view was of a parking lot, there wasn't really a way to turn on heating apart from the bathroom towel radiator, and the shower had no door. The wall at the entrance was a bit moldy from getting wet so often without a glass door. Still, these were minor inconveniences and barely caused us any trouble.

The studio was comfortable and had plenty of room for two adults and their luggage. The building was clean and well kept, with an elevator, secure entry, and friendly staff. Franz by ZEITRAUM is easy to get around from, and it's great value. I'd stay again.

Room 2.8 was a real letdown and poor value for the price. We spent five nights looking out at a carpark, with hardly any room to walk beside the bed and no bathroom shelves. The fridge couldn't even fit a 2 litre milk, let alone the shopping for five nights. There wasn't even a painting. The entry felt dark and scary at night. Not recommended.
