Golden Prague Residence

Room 32 was a good-value place to stay. The apartment is a little dated, but has a roomy living area and a kitchenette with the basics for a quick breakfast and hot drinks, plus a microwave, fridge and dishwasher. It’s in the Jewish quarter, around a 5-8 minute walk from the old town square, and there are good restaurants and a bakery nearby. The apartments are serviced daily, and the staff are friendly. Since it’s part of the Intercontinental hotel, guests can use the hotel amenities, including the excellent gym, sauna, pool and room service, without paying to stay in the hotel itself.

Once we found the place, we had a very comfortable and quiet stay. The building is tucked out of sight, and it was surprisingly hard for both our taxi driver and us to locate. We also hadn’t realized there was nobody working in the building, so check-in meant going over to the Intercontinental Hotel. It would have been helpful to know that beforehand. The room was large and a bit dated, but the location worked well for walking to old town sights, and the trolley line runs right alongside, making it easy to get around.

The rooms are a good size and the staff were great, but our bedding had clearly not been changed after the previous guests. There were dirty marks and hairs all over it, which made the room feel unclean. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

The location was hard to beat, and the apartment was clean. The blackout curtains still let in quite a lot of light, and I had expected a door between the bedroom and sitting area, but there wasn’t one. Reception was helpful, across the street at the intercontinental. All in all, I had a good experience.
