HONEST Karlín

I stayed for a month as a resident, and I’ve cohosted over 50 Airbnb properties, so I notice the small details. Honest Apartments really does pay attention to them. There’s a dishwasher, with soap provided, and four of everything: plates, cups, and silverware. The weekly cleaning was included and done properly. The beds and plush pillows were a dream, too. I had an issue come up with checkout, and the team very kindly accommodated me at their own expense. They’re attentive and among the best I’ve seen in hospitality in years. If you’re near the Florenc metro stop, this is the place I’d choose. I highly, highly recommend it.

Getting to and from old town is easy, and bus 207 drops you right in front of the building. The apartment felt spacious for two, with plenty of room for both of us. The bed was comfortable, and there were different pillow firmness options. The full kitchen had glassware, a mug, and teabags. I didn’t use the washing machine, but they’d left a washing pod, which was a thoughtful touch.

We’d definitely come back and recommend it to friends and family if we visit Prague again. It was a great base for exploring the city, and I honestly could have stayed longer than a week. The Honest Apartment complex was spot on for the price, location, and what you get. I’ve paid more at other hotels and gotten less. We chose a duplex apartment. It was modern, simply styled, and had the basics for self catering, including the appliances we needed. The living room was cosy in the evenings. It was around -5°C some nights, but the apartment stayed lovely and warm, maybe even a bit too warm since we slept on top of the covers. The shower was warm, there was plenty of storage, and the living area felt homely. The building was easy to access, and we could come and go whenever. Walking to the city center takes about 20 minutes. If you’d rather not walk, a Bolt cab costs around 120cz, about £4. The bus station backs onto the building, which is handy for getting around or travelling in and out of the city. You can sometimes hear announcements from the station, though not many, and we barely heard them in the basement apartment. There are restaurants and local shops a short walk away, with pretty cheap prices for food and shopping. Starbucks is about 300 yards away inside the bus station. There’s also bag storage at the station, useful if you check out at 10am but have a later flight. It costs about 60cz per suitcase for the day, and you can access your bag as needed. A Bolt to the airport from here is around 470cz, less than £20. Check-in takes a little figuring out, but once you have the key card, you’re good to go. You get the card in the lobby after signing in. Before arrival, you need to complete an online check-in form and provide photo ID, either a passport or driving licence. They’ll send the link if you email them. On arrival, they send a door code by email or WhatsApp so you can enter the lobby or courtyard, then complete the digital sign-in and finish the booking check-in. One thing to watch: the key card is magnetised. Keeping it next to your phone or battery charger can stop it working. We had to get ours replaced because of that.

For a few nights in Prague, this is a pretty good option. It’s compact and clean, with what you need. Check-in is easy to manage once you follow the messages and instructions they send.
