Apartment Halkova

This was my second time staying here. My son lives in Prague, so I visit at least once a year, and I don't even consider other hotels. It really feels like a home away from home. It's not fancy, but I like how simple and soothing it is. I can come and go as I please, have what I need, and feel safe once I'm settled. There's always a kettle, and now there's a Nespresso too. I bought a pack of pods for my week-long stay and enjoyed a nice cup before starting the day.

We arrived at Limehome Halová in Prague and had a horrible stay from the start. The room felt around 1 degree, colder than outside. The heating didn't work on either day, there was no hot water, safe or room service, and the room was dirty, with visible footprints from previous guests. The facilities listed in the description were missing. That first night it was so cold I had to wear my coat to go to the bathroom. We contacted staff, as there was no reception. An employee suggested taking extra blankets from the closet, but our room had no closet. Then they told us to get blankets from another room. We asked if we could stay in that room instead, but they wouldn't let us. The staff offered no real help or solution, despite us contacting them several times. They just left us to handle it ourselves, with nothing but empty words. My husband and I both became seriously ill from the cold, and the next day he had a fever of 39.8°C. We weren't moved to another room or given any fix, only an apology. They sounded concerned, but that was it. We were promised compensation and got absolutely nothing. We went to Prague and came home sick and disappointed. It's ridiculous that a place with these problems calls itself a four-star hotel.

We paid 350€ for two nights and wouldn't stay here again. The price had been pushed up by 100€, and when we complained, staff refused to move us or refund the money. The ground-floor room was so noisy that voices outside and from other guests sounded as if people were talking inside. There was no sound insulation, so we couldn't rest properly. The apartment was nearly empty, badly maintained, worn out and untidy. It didn't match the photos or our expectations. A very unpleasant stay, and we wouldn't recommend it.

An unknown man came into our room at night while we were asleep. There were three young women in the room, so this was a serious security breach. We also had trouble with the fire safety system. Staff told us to climb on furniture and dismantle it ourselves, which put us at risk, and no technician came afterward to repair it properly. When we asked to move, they offered only lower-grade rooms and said we'd have to pay extra to keep the amenities we'd already booked and paid for. The property still refuses a full refund and is offering only partial compensation. The way they handled these serious safety problems was very poor. I wouldn't recommend this place.
