Ms Elena at the front desk made our stay feel special with thoughtful little gestures, shown in the picture, and by paying attention to our dog as well as to us. My partner, our dog, and I spent 2 nights at Hotel Machova over Valentine’s Day weekend. The price was absolutely fair, and the room size was perfect. We can only recommend the hotel and its incredible service.

For 103 € for two people, booked through Booking.com, our one-night stay at Hotel Machova was pretty satisfying. It’s a quiet, comfortable place and good value if you’re okay being a little outside the center. The tram ride there takes about 15-20 minutes and is easy. The reception gentleman was very kind and helpful, which made a great first impression. The clean room had beds that felt a bit small, and the bathroom was clean too, though some water got onto the floor while we showered. Breakfast was buffet-style with limited variety, but fair for the price.

The room we received didn’t look like the pictures online. Advertising renovated rooms and then assigning older, unrenovated ones without making that clear is completely inappropriate. The Vinohrady area was marvelous, but we couldn’t stay a second night and moved to another hotel. I also find it very hard to understand how the Booking.com rating can be so high.

The clean room and convenient location were the few good points. Otherwise, this place was a disaster for what we paid, over 120 euros per night. The facilities were very old and hadn’t been renovated. The TV was tiny and outdated; it didn’t work at first, and reception fixed it after we asked, but it still wasn’t fully functional. The beds were hard, and the oversized pillows were really uncomfortable. Breakfast was quite limited and served in a run-down, dated area. I wouldn’t recommend it. It wasn’t worth the money at all.

The staff were friendly and always in a good mood, and the breakfast was good. Our room had plenty of space, comfortable beds, a strong coffee maker, a big armchair, two small chairs, and a coffee table. Pillows weren’t very comfortable, though that’s personal preference. The bathroom was a little narrow but nice and clean, with good hot water pressure. There was also a kettle with cups, coffee, and tea. On arrival we were charged a tax of 12EUR for two people. It’s a very good place for a few nights in Prague. The old center, where most attractions are, is a 30-minute walk away, or you can take an Uber.
