The breakfast setup was cramped, with room for about eight people, so everyone was squeezed together. The hot water in the urn was rarely hot, which meant boiling the kettle each time, and the toaster didn’t work properly either. My room was also smaller than I expected, with a very basic bed and a TV that looked no bigger than 12 inches, despite the listing saying every room had a flat-screen TV. It was a cheap deal and the pictures looked nice, but the place needs more care. I wouldn’t go back.

The room was clean, but there wasn’t much equipment, and the soundproofing was poor. The reservation said soap and shampoo would be there, but neither was provided. It also listed a sofa bed along with a large double bed, though not every double room actually has a sofa. The bedding was awkward too, with two single duvets for a double bed. Mornings were noisy in our room beside the breakfast area, and we were woken at 6:30, possibly by the bins being taken out. On our second night, a hotel guest who was an apprentice guitarist sang late into the night. Staff were disrespectful, and the reception was often only reachable through the outside intercom. One night a lock problem kept us stuck on the landing for more than an hour, and they offered no compensation.

We liked our spacious room and its stylish decor, and the staff were kind and very helpful. The hotel is in a neighborhood worth visiting. Breakfast had coffee, tea, bread, jam, and salami; the breakfast room also has a sink, microwave, kettle, and toaster that guests can use for much of the day. The sheets were clean, there was hot water and free Wi-Fi. By the way, Prague tap water is drinkable.

The photos online didn’t match our room or bathroom at all. Everything felt dirty, old, and uncomfortable, and the staff were no help. Breakfast was as poor as it gets. There was a horrible smell from the bathroom’s dirty, rotten pipes, but when I raised it, they acted as if they couldn’t smell anything and said it was all in my imagination.

There’s no reception or elevator, and the walls are thin. The breakfast was the worst I’ve ever had. This is an old building that the hotel uses, but it isn’t all hotel property, since private flats are there too. Some things didn’t work, including lamps and the heater. My double room was about 14 square metres including the kitchen, with a bathroom fit for one person. Can’t recommend it.
