Apartments Dusní

The room was lovely, and being close to everything was a real plus during our stay in Dusni from 31 Dec to 5 Jan. A few practical things were frustrating. There was nowhere convenient to wash dishes, and the bathroom sink was too small for that. A basin just outside the bathroom might work better. The reception was hard to find and quite a walk with suitcases. We were also told by the shuttle to pay 700 crowns, which led to several phone calls. The stay at Dusni included a free shuttle; the person at reception on 5 Jan initially disagreed, then realized we were right. It would have been much easier if the shuttle could collect us at the hotel, or if there were another arrangement for keys and the deposit. Just a few suggestions.

The location is great, but our three-day Prague stay got off to a rough start. After dragging our bags for at least 15 minutes over cobblestones in the sun from the train station, we discovered there was no front desk or even a notice at the apartment. Reception was another ten-minute walk away. At check-in they asked for an extra €50 security deposit despite everything being paid upfront, plus a cleaning fee. Those details were in the hotel's second confirmation email, which we hadn't read all the way through because we didn't expect charges like that to appear after booking. The apartment itself was disappointing too: the furnishings were basic compared with the grand photos, and none of the kitchenette appliances worked. At checkout we had to make the long walk again to get our deposit back.

If you're here for partying or a stag do, this could be a convenient option. It's spacious, central, and fairly cheap, but the club downstairs is noisy, so I wouldn't choose it for a romantic weekend. Cleanliness could be better too: our bathroom sink was partly blocked and the toilet had a strange, cheesy smell. It is what it is.

The apartment didn't feel secure because the door connecting it to another unit wasn't locked. There were several maintenance problems as well: a water heater leaked onto the bathroom floor, the shower had no hot water on Saturday morning, the bathroom mirror light didn't work, and there was a hole in the towel. The microwave did work, but its turntable seemed to catch on something and wouldn't spin properly. There's no sink for washing dishes. I had to pay a cleaning fee at check-in even though I'd already paid in full for two nights. Also, reception is nowhere near the apartments, and the Google address for the apartment is wrong for check-in. When I raised the problems, nobody apologized, which was just bad manners.
