My girls and I spent 12 days in Prague for a summer music program, and we'd book this hotel-apartment again without hesitation. The rooms were clean and neat, and it was good value for a family staying a while. Prague City Stay was a fabulous experience, especially because of the staff. Branka, Susana and Carlos were warm, good-natured and always ready to help. It was my first trip to Prague, so it took me a bit to get my bearings around the city. Thanks for all the kindness, hospitality and humour.

For the price, the beer nearby was cheap: 50 a pint compared with 100 in town, and we've paid up to 200 by the river. With few bars around, there aren't many restaurants or pubs to choose from either. The area feels a little rough. The apartment has what's shown in the photos, but it's quite basic, with sparse, simple cooking equipment and cheap, worn furniture and beds. If you want luxury and everything right on your doorstep, this place isn't for you.

The staff were really helpful. We left our Chromecast in the room, and they sent it to our home address a week later. The internet connection was the main downside, but everything else was pretty good. I especially liked the keypad entrance. It's handy when sharing a room with friends because you don't need multiple keys.

We ended up wishing our short summer trip at PCS had been longer. It's a little away from the Old Town crowds, but Praha is easy to get around from here: the stop is a short walk, Hlavni Nadrazi is about five minutes away by car and the Old Town about ten. With public transport this good, the distance really wasn't an issue, and walkers may not need a ride at all. Branka at reception pointed us to nearby restaurants and shared useful tips about transport and when to visit places. Everyone we met was kind and ready to help, with a personal touch that made a difference. Our room was bright and spacious, and the curtains kept the summer morning light out so we could sleep until 8. The bed felt just right, and the kitchenette had proper cookware as well as a fridge, dishes and a French press. Coffee drinkers might want to bring a hand grinder. The bathroom was roomy and had a washing machine, handy after a goulash or unsweetened joghurt mishap. The stay exceeded what we expected, and I'd gladly meet these people again.

A spacious, lovely apartment with all the useful bits, including a dishwasher, microwave and washing machine. Billa is an easy walk away, and the nearest tram stop is about five minutes on foot, with a direct ride to Prague Old Town.
