The Emblem Prague Hotel

It’s a little pricey, but I felt it was worth the money. The hotel is only 2-10 minutes on foot from many attractions, and the styling and artwork are first class. The art is real, including pieces by some quite renowned artists. We had the gorgeous Super King room, which was spacious and came with a separate full bathroom and large bath. The bed was probably the best I’ve slept on in a hotel. Staff were polite and knew their stuff. Their English was better than many Australians’.

The location was hard to beat, and our room was both spotless and beautifully decorated. Everyone on staff was friendly and helpful, which made the stay even nicer. Breakfast was good too. There were a few little mistakes, but the staff did their best. We had a great time at the Emblem Hotel and would happily stay again.

The location is the one real plus, just a minute from the main square. Otherwise, I wouldn’t recommend this place, and I don’t think it deserves five stars. I can’t see how it has that rating. It felt nothing like the hotel in the positive reviews I read before booking. We’d contacted the hotel when booking to say we needed early check-in and were told it would be fine. We arrived at 11:00, but the rooms weren’t ready. They sent us to a so-called sitting area for coffee, a dark, windowless basement room, and no coffee was offered. We got two of our three rooms around 11:45. One had a cat hair on the bed. We didn’t get the last key until 13:30. We’d each upgraded to a queen dom room, but they were tiny. When we raised the upgrade, the receptionist was rude and defensive instead of hearing us out, saying they’d sent the square footage. The Wi-Fi didn’t reach any of our rooms either. At night the rooms got very hot and were hard to sleep in. The temperature couldn’t be controlled, or all three thermostats were broken. Breakfast was another frustration. I asked for an oat milk cappuccino, but was told they’d run out. The same thing happened all three mornings. The breakfast staff also didn’t understand the allergen codes. I asked which allergens matched the numbers on the menu, and they said (3,7) meant a choice of three or seven eggs.

My mom and sister were visiting Prague for the first time, so I booked them a stay here and hoped it would feel special. The hotel team made that happen. They were impressed by the thoughtful details and genuine hospitality, and I’m grateful for how well they were treated. Vlad was kind and supportive from the moment they arrived, making sure they felt comfortable throughout. I also want to thank Vladimir and Maty for helping me arrange a birthday surprise and note for my mom. She was deeply touched. I can’t wait to experience the hotel myself when I visit. Highly recommended if you want to feel truly welcomed, not just have somewhere to sleep.
