I liked the room and the location, and I wish I could give this hotel a better review. The reception arrangements nearly left me stranded on a Saturday night in December, in winter. When I booked online, I was told that this hotel’s reception was at another hotel down the street, just a one-minute walk away. I didn’t think much of it. My flight landed around 7 pm, so I arranged to get there quickly. I arrived at 8 pm, an hour before reception was supposed to close at 9. The building was dark, the door was locked, and a small note said to call a number. I had data but no international phone number, so I couldn’t call. A friend had to phone for me. Without that, I would’ve been stuck there. The staff member eventually came, but didn’t apologize. If the hotel says reception is open until a certain time, it should actually be open then. The room was clean, but the kettle was unusable, with a grimy layer of white residue inside.

The staff were lovely, and check-in and checkout were easy. The room was big, the location was great, and everything was walkable, so we didn’t need a taxi. I’ve stayed at big chains like Marriott and Sheraton, but this hotel was even better. It gave me a feel for the city. I’ve recommended it to everyone I know and will come back. Thank you!

The location is worth it, right in the city centre, and the rooms are clean and spacious. But the noise can really ruin your sleep while you’re here. The walls are paper-thin, and you hear a lot from other rooms. If you’re not on the top floor, footsteps can rumble through your whole room. We asked to move, but the hotel was full, so there was no way to change rooms. You’re left hoping the other guests are considerate and don’t shout while you’re trying to sleep. The water pressure is unreliable too. Sometimes the shower is normal, other times you can’t shower properly.

We stayed four nights and would come back. The room was tidy, fitted out in a nice classic style, and had a small fridge and kettle. The bed was super comfortable, and the windows shut out sound really well. When they were open, we could hear the quiet chatter of people coming and going in the alley. Even with temperatures around 30 degrees, opening them cooled the room, which had a strong tan. The location made our time in Prague very pleasant. It felt safe, just off a main street, with several locks and keypads. The Charles Bridge was about a three-minute walk away, with plenty of restaurants and the main square close by. The rooms got a quick service each day, with bins emptied and beds made, but I don’t think the towels were changed.

The women who helped us check in were wonderful, and the cleaning staff were great too. We had a good stay as two female travelers, but the man at the desk with white hair and glasses ruined our last experience. On checkout day, we asked for an extra hour. In an abrasive tone, he said that was okay and that our key would work until noon. We went out to get food, but when we returned at 11:30 am, we were locked out. At the front desk, he was extremely rude, telling us we needed to leave for the next guests and should’ve gone earlier, even though he’d said noon was fine. He also kept insisting our room had a different number, despite us clarifying it several times. The hotel was great otherwise, but he needs customer service training. Thank you!
