We were four people staying for a long weekend at Wenceslas Square Hotel. The location is great, though it’s on a main road. Our room faced the other way and was quiet, but expect some noise if yours faces the road. We got welcome drinks, but the barman didn’t explain that only certain drinks were included, so we ended up paying 900czk. We’d arranged a birthday surprise in advance, a bottle of Prosecco and balloons in the room, with payment on arrival. It wasn’t set up when we got there, and we were really disappointed. Nobody apologized. The hotel itself is nice and the rooms are spacious, but the front desk service was inconsistent. We asked three times to have the shower gel refilled, and it never happened. Marek was one of the helpful staff, though, and we did get some great service from him. Breakfast was nice with plenty of options.

The view from our window was amazing, and the room was clean, tidy, and spacious. The location by the station worked perfectly for us, and the staff were so friendly. The hot water ran out quite quickly, which was chilly in winter, and we didn’t have a kettle in the room. Those are small complaints, though. We had a lovely stay, I’d definitely recommend it, and I’d give 4.5 stars if I could!

The rooftop access was a highlight, with great views over the city, and the location made it easy to explore. The staff were lovely and breakfast was fantastic. Our room was spacious but a little dated. I found it quite charming, though, and we had a great stay.

The rooftop bar has a great view, and the hotel is close to the markets, with the old town only a short walk away, in my opinion. The place was decent overall, and the room was kept very clean despite its old carpet and dated look. The room didn’t match the pictures on booking.com, which was disappointing, but it was still a solid stay.

The parking needs some thought before you arrive. Reserve a space when booking, and be ready for a very narrow entrance, about the width of an average car, so you have to fold in the mirrors. The front desk woman guided us and was very helpful, but I can imagine it being difficult for many drivers, with a risk of scratches. The parking area isn’t large, though it was enough for us, and only hotel or restaurant guests can access it. The rooftop patio is a lovely perk. We took coffee from our room up there in the morning to enjoy the view, and in the evening we were welcomed with complimentary bubbly. There isn’t bar staff in the morning, but hotel guests can still sit on the patio. The breakfast was surprisingly generous for a small hotel, with eggs, meats, cheeses, salads, cereal, desserts, coffee and tea, juices, fruit, porridge, and pancakes. It was all well made and tasted good. The rooms were spacious, well furnished, and clean, with views of the beautiful museum. The older building has plenty of character and is well maintained. There was some street construction, but it didn’t bother us, and there was no construction noise during rest hours. Traffic could be a bit noisy at night, though our double-layer windows helped, and earplugs by the bed were a nice touch. We slept well and barely noticed the noise. It’s a good location, close to the shopping center and about a lazy 20-minute walk to the old town and main sights. What really stood out was the staff. Everyone was professional, friendly, helpful, and kindhearted, with the care and attention to detail I’d expect from a luxury 5-star hotel. I used to manage at a forbes star hotel, so that’s not a comparison I make lightly. A charming place with great staff, a lovely rooftop, good breakfast, and tricky parking.
