The tea was the only thing I liked. The food and drink selection is pretty limited, and what we ordered was overpriced and didn’t taste as good as it should have.

We’ve been returning for four years because of the lovely view and the little playground for kids. The fries are excellent, and the Caesar salad is usually decent, but the blueberry dumplings are dry. The manager brings the experience down: he’s not much for conversation and struggles even to apologize when he forgets to order a dish.

The setting is lovely, with a view, and it’s just a short walk from the church. But the food was below average for the price and portion size, and the service was unpleasant.

Save your 1,000 crowns. You’ll get more charm and enthusiasm at a snack bar. This was one of my worst experiences in the Czech Republic, and as a cook I’m ashamed of this colleague. At 6:30 in the middle of peak summer, the waiter said they had food, so we sat down. They’d run out of garlic soup, then suggested lentil soup, which was gone too. The menu was baked cheese and schnitzel, both frozen and premade, as were the sides. Even the fries were a mess. It was all careless and tasteless, with no attention to detail or skill. The beans were overcooked, dry, and too salty; the so-called buttered vegetables had no butter and were still lukewarm from the freezer. The schnitzel was missing even the lemon and lettuce shown in the food photos, which felt like a complete rip-off. Meanwhile, a huge 2-3 meter screen played nonstop commercials and football commentary for 45 minutes. Either the cook or the photographer should have been fired.
