Hromovka

We’ve stayed here twice now and will definitely be back. It’s great for kids, who can play inside or outside safely. The family-run hotel feels warm and cozy, with lovely places to sit indoors for a meal, a drink, or games. Outside, the terrace has beautiful seating and a far-reaching view.

The food and drinks were extremely good, and everyone on staff was friendly and helpful. A wonderful hotel, and I’d certainly come back for the whole experience.

The location worked perfectly for hiking and visiting Špindlerův Mlýn, and our room had a spectacular view. We were greeted warmly by Jana and the inn dog, Maggie. Inside, the dining room felt inviting, the food was delicious and served on genuine Czech blue onion porcelain, and Barbara took great care of us. Jana and Alexandr, the owners, were around to answer our questions. We’re already looking forward to coming back.

Set halfway up the mountain above town, the hotel is surrounded by walking trails, and our outside table looked out over the mountains and sunset. It’s 111 years old and has plenty of character, while the bathroom is modern, spacious, and comfortable. The staff kept checking that we were comfortable and happy with our meals. Everything was homemade and started after we ordered. Even the soup waited until a fresh roll came out of the oven. I’ve stayed at plenty of hotels and resorts, but this one took my breath away more than once. Service, food, and views all get five stars from me. Five is the maximum, though I could easily give the place 25. We’ll return again and again, and I highly recommend Hotel Hromovka.
