Pod Jasany

The hotel sits on a hillside overlooking the ski lift, and getting around was the hardest part of my stay. There was no shuttle to the lift or bus stop, and the walk in ski boots was exhausting. I ended up taking taxis each time, and they’re expensive. I nearly spent as much on taxis as on the hotel, so I wouldn’t recommend staying here without a car. I had online classes and needed reliable internet, but the connection was poor and often didn’t work, so I used my own data most of the time. The room itself was clean, attractive, and a good size. I was moved from a single room to a lovely mountain-view room at no extra charge. The lounge with its fireplace and study was peaceful, the private sauna was nice, and the ski room was adequate. I’d have enjoyed the sauna more if there hadn’t been curtains over the mountain-facing windows. The owner picked me up from the bus stop after I’d mentioned I was alone with large suitcases and a snowboard, though generally the hotel doesn’t provide shuttle service. Breakfast was very good, varied, and carefully prepared, and the dinner choices were nice. But over three evenings, the menu was repeated, with the same dishes coming up again. Having the same meals back-to-back wasn’t pleasant.

The food was the highlight for us. Every meal felt homemade and comforting, but still carefully crafted, and it was so delicious we can’t say enough about it. We loved the cozy mountain-town style of Pod Jasany, which was just what we wanted. The hotel is also within walking distance of the main ski lift. We’ll definitely come back.

Cozy rooms, great service, and really good food. I had a very good stay and would come back.

We stayed two nights over Valentine’s weekend in a lovely classic room on the second floor. The staff were very pleasant, especially the woman at reception, and we enjoyed the whole visit. The food was the real favorite, though. We had three courses every evening, and I still can’t forget the squid and prawn risotto. We’ll certainly return.
