Hotel Srni

The rooms are nice and the breakfast is great. The hotel seems aimed at guests over 50 and has made a real effort to accommodate people with limited mobility. There is a ramp just past reception that covers two flights of stairs, though, which feels like a bit much. The lifts have a very 1980s look.

There aren’t many places for a hot lunch in Srní, especially in the low season, so the hotel restaurant is well worth a visit. It’s nicely designed, with professional, friendly staff and good food, though the prices are a little high. They pour standard 12° Pilsner Urquell on tap.

The staff are very professional and happy to help, and I’d recommend this hotel for a short or long holiday, including with children. We stayed just a few days. It’s in a small, pleasant village, where people who have trouble walking long distances can stroll on the asphalt paths. The hotel is partly accessible too. A big plus is the really large 25 x 12.5 meter swimming pool, with easy access. Breakfast is a standard continental spread, and they keep replenishing it, so even if you don’t get up early, you can still choose from everything. Dinners are available à la carte or buffet, and both are very good. That was our experience on our first visit. On the second, from 11.8.2024 till 13.8.2024, things were quite different: the buffet dinner selection was very limited, and breakfast had cold sausages, eggs and other items.

The rooms look good after the recent renovation, and they’re clean. The pool and sauna are good as well. But the service quality falls short of what I’d expect from a 4-star hotel. Wi-Fi is acceptable at night, but in the evening it barely works. It seems the capacity of the external connection hasn’t changed in the last decade. The restaurant also seems short staffed. We were unlucky enough to arrive at peak time once and had to wait an hour just to place our order.
