Penzion u Kovare

It was the way we were treated that made the visit so unpleasant. We waited 75 minutes for food without anyone explaining the delay. After 45 minutes, a waiter who seemed permanently irritated set down two plates, then snatched them away 30 seconds later while muttering under his breath. We sat there as people who had arrived after us finished eating. Our food only came ten minutes after we complained to a waitress, and she said nothing or made eye contact when bringing it. The meal itself was underwhelming too: nice knedli, but with an industrial sauce and tiny slivers of meat.

We asked the waiter for an espresso before the meal, but he turned us down, saying the terrace was full and he didn’t have time. He was smoking when we arrived. The two ladies were kind, but he wasn’t. We’d ordered our steak medium and it came well done. Avoid this restaurant.

I’d known about this place for a while and I’m glad I finally came. The meal was great, the food was amazing, and the service was quick and efficient. Thanks for a tip-top experience. Dekuji.

The food was great, but I ordered it as a surprise and found there was no menu in English or German. Neither waitress spoke a foreign language.
