Coming back to the room after wandering around the beautiful town felt really uncomfortable. Here's what went wrong. We were given a rooftop room with two tiny windows, and the reception was not very welcoming. The staff member there spoke little English. There was black mould above the AC, as shown in the pictures. We went downstairs to report it and ask to change rooms, but reception was closed around 16:00. A guy from the restaurant told us the hotel was fully booked, though it wasn't. After a short walk around town, we returned to find the mould gone, the windows closed, and the room smelling of chlorine. It seemed someone had come in and cleaned it with chemicals without airing out the room, so we had to open the windows ourselves. The pillows looked like napkins, and I couldn't sleep on them, so I had to make a pillow out of my coat 🤟🏻. There's no “Do not disturb” sign, and we were surprised to find that staff had folded out the bed while we were away. The bathroom ventilation was extremely loud, and the lamp above the sink was disgustingly rusted or something. The bathroom vent was also full of chunks of dust, as in the photos. There wasn't a kettle or anything similar in the room. When we checked out, nobody asked how our stay had been or even wished us a good day. Highly, highly do not recommend staying there.

The TV had no power because it was unplugged, and the remote had no batteries. It seemed like some of the staff already knew the TV wasn't working. The woman at reception tried to set it up but had no luck. We couldn't even discuss a discount. Will Room 45 have a working TV next time I come?

The train station is nearby, and the bed was comfortable. The shower and room were clean, the receptionists friendly, and breakfast and coffee were amazing. I'm sure people who like Czech beer will enjoy the selection too. I don't drink alcohol, but their beer choices are very rich. The hours for leaving are convenient as well. Thanks for being so friendly and nice. I was glad to spend a night in this wonderful place.

There's a triple-locked room for storing bikes, which is handy if you need a night during a bike trip. The hostess was smiling and very helpful when I had questions or needed a hand, as was the other waitress. The restaurant and bar in the « backyard » is a must, and I spent at least 5h there 😁. There were a few spiders on the ceiling, a small issue, but they keep insects out of the room. Thanks for the night, bises from France.

The hotel rooms are basic and clean enough, and the value for money is very good. I'd give the hotel itself 3 stars, but the excellent pivovar downstairs, with home-brewed beer and lots of traditional Czech food, brings it up to a well-deserved 4 for me. Big chance I'll visit again in the future!
