The traditional Czech food was above average, and the pizza was surprisingly superb. The burger, though, not so much. Overall, a pleasant experience. Hotel breakfasts were mediocre. No local specialties, scrambled eggs, or bacon, really? And the serving was messy, with Nutella in a jar. Come on.

The breakfast was generous, with fresh bread and pastries that I really liked, plus an amazing range of drinks. Dinner in the restaurant was delicious, especially the beef broth and beef cheeks. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Another lovely stay at Pension Bohmerwald in Zelezna Ruda. We had a renovated room with a high standard of finish, thoughtful little touches, and very comfortable beds. I’d definitely recommend it and look forward to staying again.

The service felt uninterested. When we asked for salad, we were told to help ourselves from the salad bar, but nobody mentioned that each bowl cost €5. My daughter took some green salad and was charged for it.

This is only about the restaurant. We crossed from Germany into the Czech Republic, from ludwigstahl to zelezna ruda, and had lunch at a wildhaus in Germany. I expected prices here to be a little over €2 higher than at the wildhaus. The vegetarian choices were quite limited: a salad buffet, fried cheese, and two pizzas. The staff and place were nice and clean, though.

The hosts were friendly and helpful, and the ski room was spacious and warm. Our room was warm and clean too. The location is close to the centre of Zelezna Ruda but still very quiet. Breakfasts and dinners were delicious, especially the homemade Nutella. Really great accommodation!
