The location is quiet and nice, and the rest was okay. But the prices stay at high-season levels even when you visit out of season. The bathroom is quite old and smells.

The guesthouse is nicely furnished in a modern style. Arranging our arrival was pleasant, quick and flexible. There’s a shared kitchen with a fridge and most of what you need, though it’s missing a cutting board and a beer or wine opener.

There’s no breakfast, but the pastry shop right beside the clean, quiet guesthouse makes up for it with excellent food and pizza. We’d stay here again if we return to Železná Ruda. I’m taking off a star because we had no electricity from 8:00 to 18:00 on two days while masts were being replaced. I know the owner wasn’t responsible for the outage, but the administrator only told us 12 hours beforehand, even though planned shutdowns like this are announced weeks ahead.

Our room faced the road, so the traffic noise was the only thing that bothered us. Otherwise, we had a nice two-night stay at U Kapličky. The room was huge, with four beds, a kitchenette and a small fridge. The bathroom and toilet were smaller but perfectly adequate, and everything was clean. Parking was right behind the guesthouse, and the owner was easy to deal with. There’s no food service at the guesthouse, but Sněhurka next door served really tasty breakfasts. In central Železná Ruda there are lots of options for lunch or dinner; we recommend Bufet Kryštof Částka, for example. Thank you for a nice stay.
