You get a lot for the price, especially with that great shower and kitchen utensils. Everything else was perfect too. The one drawback is that some staff don't speak English.

It's quiet, right in the center with everything close by, and you can stay over the weekend. Staff are nice, there are two vending machines on the ground floor, and the building has an elevator. You can get a room looking out over all of Zlín. Honestly, compared with the local boarding school, this place is paradise. There's camera coverage around the building, including indoors. Visitors aren't questioned much, and you don't have to pay for overnight stays. The downsides: rooms get indescribably hot in summer, especially on the south side, and there's no microwave. Parking costs extra. You can't cancel the contract before it ends in June, and the price has gone up since last year. Rooms are inspected every week.
The rooms are clean and new, the accommodation is generally a good standard, and there's an elevator. Reception staff are pleasant. But there's no bicycle room, even though the website says one is provided. For a year-long student stay, leaving the contract early is practically impossible unless you find someone to take your place, which is hard to do in the middle of the school year. The biggest disappointment was during the coronavirus epidemic. Schools were closed, so we didn't use the dorms for the whole semester. They wouldn't agree to lower the rent or discount the energy we hadn't used, even though other dorms did offer those discounts. The owner wouldn't make any concessions.
The rooms are fairly small, with only basic furnishings, a fridge, and a hob. Parking costs extra both inside and outside the grounds. During the Covid situation there was no rent relief, and ending the contract before its stated date meant paying compensation. I wouldn't recommend it for students.
It's very hot and uncomfortable in the rooms on the top floor. Getting luggage up to the fifth floor is a problem too, since there's no elevator. The bathroom was dirty. The only good point was being close to the center. The receptionist spoke only Czech and couldn't manage even a greeting, telling us to pay, or saying goodbye.
