Wohnen am Wanderweg

For a single night, the room was okay: clean and stocked with fresh towels. We booked spontaneously, and we were traveling with pets. Our old dog struggled with the open stairs and was frightened going up and down. The kitchen had only two hotplates, no oven, and so little crockery and equipment that we barely got to make breakfast. The walls are very thin. It also would've helped if the keys were labeled better and if it had been clearer that the apartment is on the top floor, in the attic. We only got an email about specifying our pets and the bill after we were already on our way, so communication could've been better. Fine for one night, though.

It's a modern, attractive building, and the holiday apartment itself is nicely furnished, modern, and has a balcony. There are two rooms with four comfortable beds altogether. But the kitchen was poorly equipped and could've been maintained better. The balcony decking was completely broken and loose. Fine for a night, though I expect a bit more for a longer stay.

The walls were so thin that the attic tenant's very loud comings and goings at 3 a.m. drove us to leave early. We wouldn't recommend this place. There were stains on the towels and hair on the bed linen, and we first had to move the chairs away from the table. The balcony floor was ruined and slippery, with a broken plastic chair that should've been thrown out. The smoke detector was completely taped over, which isn't allowed. The TV batteries were dead, so we had to buy new ones, and the reading lamp on the wall didn't work. Things like that should be checked when guests arrive. The furnishings were abysmal. There were just two knives, no four matching dinner plates, no egg cups, no four matching drinking glasses, no bottle opener or corkscrew, and the coffee cups looked like dollhouse cups. Never again.

The bed was comfortable, and we had no parking problems. But the top-floor apartment was hard to use at 1.88m tall, since I had to walk around hunched over. The kitchen cabinets had a greasy film mixed with dust, and the sofa seat had large stains. Showering was awkward too, with no curtain in the bathtub, which was quite low. The key to the connecting door between our apartment and the neighboring one didn't work for either of us. We reported it on the first day, but nothing was done before we left. Twice in the evening we had to open the door for the neighbors, and once they had to let us in. We also left a package behind and called the day after we left to ask if it could be forwarded at our expense. The man on the phone said he'd get back to us, but three days later we still hadn't heard anything.
