Ferienwohnung Bäumner

A peaceful, relaxing place for a holiday, and a lovely family welcomed us. They were always polite and smiling. We'd recommend it and hope to return.

They withheld 110.- from the deposit without telling us. They'd said that in case of damage, they would send an invoice explaining it. After I asked, they sent photos showing some crumbs on the floor, a pan, a glass of water, and a spatula with a few dried water streaks on it, on the bottom of the pan. We'd taken out the trash, washed the dishes, removed the bed linen and put the towels together. They still kept 110 euros, on top of the 45.- cleaning fee. The instruction was to leave the place broom clean, which we did. Apparently they expected it spotless despite charging for cleaning. It feels like they've come up with a nice little profit model. We've reported it to Booking, and there'll be an investigation.

The house is spacious, neat and clean, in a beautiful, peaceful area. There was some hassle afterward over the cleaning fee, though, so I've changed my rating from 5 stars to 3.

This is only about apartment number 3. We were 30 minutes late for check-in, but sorted it out by phone with the owner, who was very friendly. The kitchen was very clean, and all the appliances were in working order: dishwasher, egg cooker, blender, toaster, kettle, bread slicer, microwave, stove and fridge with a freezer compartment. The apartment is very noisy. You can hear what's going on next door, including people talking and the doorbell, but it didn't bother us. What we did find disappointing was that the mattresses are extremely thin and worn out, and the very cheap Poco sofa is worn out too. Still, we're giving it 4 stars and will be back soon. We'll book a different apartment next time. Best regards, M+F 4 nights
