Hotel Birnbacher Hof

We booked an apartment in the Westbau. It was a good size and very well equipped, and the breakfast selection was very good and ample. The service really matters here, and I’d recommend the accommodation. You can walk to the thermal baths, though the return walk feels long after a visit. There’s also a thermal baths shuttle.

The breakfast was delicious and the staff friendly, but the massages were poor. You can request a spa treatment here, and entry wristbands for the Rottaltherme thermal baths in town are available at reception. It’s a beautiful holiday region, though the balcony looks out onto an apartment building and the view feels especially dull in bad weather. Local activities are geared toward older people. Passau is worth visiting, as are the Bad Füssingen thermal baths.

The thermal baths, shops, and restaurants are all an easy walk away, and the breakfast room is cozy with regional products. Our quiet, clean apartment had comfortable mattresses and great heating, even in December. The staff were absolutely friendly and competent. We were extremely satisfied with our week at Birnbacher Hof again and would love to come back.

Everything in town is within walking distance, and breakfast had all we wanted, with eggs cooked fresh to order. The hotel is down to earth, without unnecessary frills, and the staff are friendly. We had a very pleasant, relaxing three days and would gladly return.
