Landgasthof Maximilian

I booked this hotel by mistake and tried every way to reach them, through booking and by phone, within 5 minutes. Nobody answered. The next day they said they couldn't waive the cancellation fee. This is the kind of business that shouldn't be supported.

The food was great and unbelievably cheap, and the people were friendly. Our rooms were nice and clean, though the shower wasn't great because its head wouldn't stay in position. If you're traveling and need somewhere to rest, just come here, you won't regret it.

The price was high, and the staff didn't seem service oriented. They charge full rates because they know it's school holidays, which is fair enough if the experience matches. At breakfast, there was one egg left, its shell broken all over and clearly dropped on the floor. When I asked about it, they said, "You can perfectly eat this egg, there's nothing wrong with it." I asked for another, but they said they had none, even on a fully booked weekend. The staff made me feel ridiculous for asking a normal question. The bed or mattress also feels like it needs replacing. It was like Bud Spencer had slept on it for 100 years.

I paid for the hotel more than a month in advance after arranging the reservation directly by email. When I arrived, there was no reservation under my name and the hotel was full. I still haven't received a refund. I've sent the hotel a dozen emails asking for it, and none have been answered.
