The staff were so friendly and attentive, and the saunas were clean and well cared for. We only stayed Saturday night, but the dinner was generous and very good. The bathrooms were lovely too. Definitely recommend it.

The place no longer has mud baths or massage facilities, and the Griesbacher Hof no longer runs its own restaurant. We even had to go to another hotel for the breakfast we’d booked. After more than 20 years of holidays here, we’ve decided this was our last stay. The website still lists a restaurant and health clinic, so it really needs updating. The friendly women at reception told us nothing is going to change, apparently because there isn’t enough demand. Next year we’ll book somewhere else in Bad Griesbach.

You can get to the Fürstentherme spa easily, and there are nice walking trails close by. But the reception desk is never staffed, with no instructions for getting in touch. There’s no restaurant or physiotherapy practice in the building anymore. The hallway carpets are old and dirty, and it seems the lockdown wasn’t used to renovate. Even after the Passau district lockdown ended, the website was still talking about the closure and gave no word on reopening.

The bathroom was so filthy, old, and moldy that we ended up showering at the spa. The room itself smelled horribly of mold and was far too dirty and run-down to stay in. Never again, and I absolutely can’t recommend it.
