The hotel staff were wonderful. They were friendly, handled our questions and requests easily, and even remembered which drinks we’d ordered the previous day. I felt really welcome. The breakfast buffet had plenty of choice, and public transport was good. The town is small, with some nice shops, and Bad Iburg and Bad Rotherfelde are nearby. The salt walls are worth a look too. My mother and I stayed at the end of November for a girls’ weekend, to relax and visit the nearby Christmas market. We had a top-floor apartment across the street from the hotel. It was spacious and nicely furnished, with a jacuzzi that we really enjoyed. The room was clean, the beds were fine, and it had everything we needed. I’m allergic to down bedding, but they had no problem providing synthetic bedding when we asked. A few lamps were broken, though someone came to fix them as soon as we mentioned it. There’s no lift in the apartment building, and the stairs are quite steep. If you use a wheelchair or have difficulty with stairs, book in the hotel itself, which has a lift.

The staff were super nice and made us feel welcome throughout our stay. The breakfast buffet had lots of options, including cheeses, meats, tasty breads, yoghurt, cereal, and fruit. It’s a charming, relaxed hotel in the town centre, with comfortable, generously sized rooms, a pool, and a sauna. I’d highly recommend it if you’re in the area.

The hotel is in a lovely town, just a few steps from the city church. Be sure to visit 'Kur Park' to enjoy the natural scenery. The staff are friendly, and the breakfast buffet has an enormous range of breads, cereals, hot drinks, and fruit. The place is comfortable, though the Wi-Fi was very weak in the second-floor room we booked.

The rooms are large, clean, and cheerful, with a spacious bathroom and a lovely spa bath. There’s a good restaurant in the historic section, and the place is well appointed and good value. It’s not the ancient hotel you might expect, though.
