The apartment was large and clean, though most of the beds were sofa beds. We were pleased with everything else, which makes the checkout issue all the more disappointing. The tourist tax is €1.50 per person per night, and paying it is no problem, but they tried to charge us about double. Check that you pay the correct amount. Without that incident, I'd have given more stars.

The restaurant was excellent, though it's an expensive fish restaurant, so give yourself time to enjoy it, at least two hours. Our dog was more than welcome. We had a fresh, newly done room that was great value, much larger than a hotel room, with a kitchen and two bedrooms.

We stayed at the villa for a weekend, two adults with two large dogs, and were pleasantly surprised. The location is beautiful, and the staff are friendly. The room is suitably furnished for the price, with modern appliances. If we're back in the Thuringian Forest, we'll definitely try to stay at the villa again.
